After many months of planning, everyone in Team Wellbeing was rearing to go into our second Quirky Wedding Fayre, which took place on Sunday, 1st October. Wearing our custom-made sashes our matching face-glitter and flower crowns (brilliantly done from Unicorn Festival Glitter and Jules Precious Vintage respectively), we were so excited to wait and see who was going to come through our doors – even the weather couldn’t rain on our parade!
Thankfully, the grey drizzly day didn’t stop many many brides either, as they came from all over the North-West (and even from the other side of the Pennines) to see our fantastic range of stalls and fellow suppliers; from showing the bare necessities for any bride, such as gorgeous autumnal bouquets from Felicity Farm Flowers and Lancashire Floristry, and beautiful clothing from Something Blue Boutique; to the things you would never know you needed such as treats for all your four-legged friends during your wedding from Brambles, or jewelled Converses from Rock My Shoes; we had it all, from the fun, to the quirky and truly magical.
The barn’s atmosphere was electric, buzzing with activity, helped in part that we had a wonderful musical selection. Firstly, our friend Andy from Knight Beat DJ provided a set for the day, and while he had a break, we had acoustic sets from the incredibly talented Lucy Styles. We even had a set from The Best Singing Waiter – just shows that we are flexible to whatever style you like for your big day.
As well as all our stalls, Chef Karl was on hand to provide a fantastic menu for the day: from a cup of steaming hot homemade tomato soup, to a selection of pizzas from our wood-fired pizza oven (which proved to be extremely popular!); perfect for a cold autumnal day. For those with a sweet tooth, we also provided our vintage cake cart with a truly scrumptious selection that went down a (sweet) treat.
There was fun in our Wheatsheaf Barn too, as we had music from the amazing Live Piano Experience, as well as an area to entertain the little ones – as we understand, it can be interesting when they are being “dragged” around venues, so we had in Together Teepee, who gave a fantastic play area for little children to enjoy. Our friend Penelope Pig also visited the fayre to say hello to all the children, and we even had a very famous guest turn up – the Gruffalo and his friends gave an absolutely fantastic puppet show!!
Our bow-tie-wearing llamas were also at hand to say hello to our guests, whether young, or young at heart.
On behalf of everyone at Team Wellbeing, we would like to thank everyone who came along, whether a bride, groom, family, friends; it was truly a fantastic day, and we all hope you had just as much fun as we did! We would also like to thank all our exhibitors for your creativity and enthusiasm – we couldn’t have done it without you
Our next Quirky Wedding Fair will take place on Sunday 25th March 2018 – make sure the date is in your diaries!! =D
